India’s skipper Harmanpreet Kaur was batting on 88* off 83 balls when South Africa were about to begin the 50th over of the innings on Wednesday (June 19) in the second ODI of the multi-format series at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

Kaur got to the three-digit mark in style, smashing four, six, and a four against one of South Africa’s primary weapons of attack Nonkululeko Mlaba, leaving every fan at Chinnaswamy in absolute awe.

Kaur moved onto 92 with a delightful cut past the point region. Then, on the next delivery, she smashed Mlaba over deep mid-wicket for a maximum, needing two more runs to reach her sixth ODI hundred with two balls to go.

And she did it, playing a beautiful drive past the cover fielder for another four runs before removing her helmet with sheer joy.

The entire coaching staff of India, including head coach Amol Muzumdar, was pleased to see Kaur back at her very best, while all players gave her a standing ovation in appreciation.
