Philippe, Kuhnemann replace Inglis, Adam Zampa in first ODI
Australian spinner Adam Zampa has made himself unavailable from the series-opening first ODI match against India in Perth on October 19 citing family and personal reasons. Wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis will also miss the match as he is yet to recover from his calf injury. Cricket Australia has already called up Josh Philippe and Matthew Kuhnemann as Josh Inglis and Zampa’s replacements respectively, as the hosts gear up to challenge the visiting Indian team in the highly-anticipated contest.

In response, Simon Harmer (4-51) picked up four while Senuran Muthusamy sealed five (5-57) to claim 11 wickets for the match as South Africa folded up Pakistan for just 167 in 46.1 overs, thus limiting the latter’s lead to 277 runs. India surpass South Africa to become third most successful home team
Team India registered their 122nd Test win at home from 296 matches after defeating West Indies in Delhi to seal the two-match series 2-0. The outcome helped India soar past South Africa’s tally of 121 Test wins to become the third most successful home team in Test history. Out of their 296 matches, Team India has lost 58, drawn 115 and tied one match. At the moment, age-old Test giants Australia (262 wins) and England (241 wins) remain the two most successful teams at home in terms of number of wins.
Hardik Pandya to reach BCCI COE for injury assessment
Charismatic Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya will be undergoing assessment for his injury at the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Centre of Excellence (CoE). It is worth noting that the cricketer sustained an injury on his left quadricep during the recently-concluded 2025 Asia Cup in the UAE, and was even ruled out of India’s high-octane tournament final against arch-rivals Pakistan in Dubai. As reported by the Times of India (TOI), the timeline of Hardik Pandya’s return to competitive cricket will only be determined after a thorough assessment of his quadricep injury.
