India To Play Semis & Final On Successive Days In T20 WC 2024? Bizarre Schedule Keeps Fans Guessing

In an unlikely but possible scenario, the second finalists could find themselves in troubled waters in the upcoming T20 World Cup, with a demanding schedule likely to take a toll on their performance in the final.

Notably, the second and third-placed teams will collide in the tournament's second semifinal, which is scheduled at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on June 27. However, if the game is postponed to the reserve day, i.e. June 28, due to unfavourable playing conditions, the winner of that clash will be made to play the final on the next day.

So, in addition to having a restless day on the field, the players will travel from Guyana to Barbados for the final, reducing the scope for physical and mental relaxation before the all-important clash.

Thus, the winner of the second semifinal could have the disadvantage of tired legs heading to the final face-off.

This might also adversely affect India's performance only if they end up being the second or third-placed team and secure a victory in the semifinal in Guyana.

However, it's a hypothetical scenario that will not have any practical existence if the weather Gods stay kind to the players and teams.

The World Cup begins on June 1, with the United States and Canada meeting in the tournament opener at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, Texas.
