In a massive setback for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, in-form batter Will Jacks has bid adieu to the IPL 2024 owing to national commitment. 

Ahead of the all-important T20 World Cup, England are set to play a preparatory series against Pakistan on home soil. 

So, the ECB had earlier released an official statement regarding the English players' unavailability for the IPL playoffs. Jacks, alongside speedster Reece Topley, has flown back to home to join the national camp ahead of the mega event. 

While Topley was anyway out of RCB's starting XI, the absence of Jacks might hurt the Red Brigade as the batter was in red-hot form. 

In eight IPL 2024 innings, the explosive English batter hammered 230 runs at an average of 32.86 and a blistering strike rate of 175.57, contributing significantly to RCB's success. 

However, as he will miss out on the remainder of the season, RCB are expected to bring Glenn Maxwell back into the playing XI for the must-win match against Chennai Super Kings. 

The rest of RCB's lineup will likely be similar to what they had in the previous match where they swatted aside Delhi Capitals in own den.
