Ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, Sri Lanka are the first team that have left for the preparation for the marquee tournament. In a post that has gone viral on the internet, the Lankan team was seen having spiritual time together ahead of leaving for the USA and the West Indies. 

Sri Lanka had unveiled their 15-man squad for the highly anticipated T20 World Cup 2024, set to take place from June 2-29 in the USA and the West Indies. 

The Sri Lankan team comprises a mix of experienced players and young talents, the captaincy had been entrusted to Wanindu Hasaranga, who is expected to lead the team with his exceptional skills and tactical acumen.


Sri Lanka Have Left For The T20 World Cup 2024

The most exciting inclusions in the squad is Dunith Wellalage, an uncapped left-arm spin allrounder, who has impressed selectors with his solid batting, exceptional fielding skills, and impressive left-arm spin.

Kamindu Mendis and Nuwan Thushara are also new additions to the team, bringing their unique talents and strengths to the table. Angelo Mathews, Dhananjaya de Silva, and Dasun Shanaka are among the seasoned players who will be representing Sri Lanka in the tournament.

Sri Lanka finds itself in Group D of the T20 World Cup, alongside Bangladesh, Nepal, Netherlands, and South Africa. Their first match is set to take place against South Africa in New York on June 3, followed by matches against Bangladesh, Nepal, and the Netherlands.
