The much-awaited clash between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) slated to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad has finally been abandoned after a lengthy 3-hour delay. A lot of discussion was happening and it almost felt as if the officials tried their best to have some cricket, but rain had the final say and the match was washed out.

This means that Shubman Gill's Gujarat Titans has been eliminated from the Indian Premier League. Once, the IPL winning team, this year has not just failed to qualify but also crashed out of the tournament, thereby breaking the dreams of all of their fans.

Since the match has been abandoned both the teams have been awarded one point each and with this the table-toppers KKR becomes the first team to bag 19 points and secure a guaranteed spot in Top 2. On the other hand, GT will remain at the eight spot, however their hopes to make it to the playoffs have been quashed.

Moving forward in the business end, GT will lockhorns with SRH in their final game on May 16 and KKR will clash with Rajasthan Royals in the 70th game on May 19 (Sunday.)
