Former Indian pacer Zaheer Khan commended Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for their remarkable turnaround in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season, emphasising the significance of passion in their success.

Despite facing six consecutive defeats initially, RCB staged a stunning comeback, securing five consecutive wins to remain in contention for the playoffs.

Zaheer praised the team's resilience, stating, "This does not happen without passion, so you have to appreciate that."  

He highlighted RCB's ability to control what they can and base their expectations on it, lauding their determination to revive their season despite the odds.

Zaheer Khan's remarks came after RCB's impressive 47-run victory over Delhi Capitals, which marked their fifth consecutive win in the tournament.

With this win, RCB climbed to the fifth position in the IPL 2024 standings, just two points behind Sunrisers Hyderabad. The team's aggressive approach under the leadership of skipper Faf du Plessis has been instrumental in their resurgence.

Looking ahead, RCB faces a crucial match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), where a victory could secure their spot in the playoffs. 

Zaheer highlighted the importance of this upcoming fixture, stating, "If all these things go RCB's way until the final match, it will be an extremely interesting contest."

RCB's journey from being at the bottom of the table to now being playoff contenders has surprised many cricket fans.

The match against CSK on May 18 will determine which team secures a playoff berth, adding further excitement to the IPL 2024 season.
