On May 12, a bomb threat was received at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium. According to Lalit Sharma, the Additional SP, the threat came through an email sent to the official Sports Council email address. The authorities responded quickly and evacuated the stadium immediately. The Bomb Disposal Squad, along with the Dog Squad, is now investigating the situation.

Jaipur & Indore Cricket Stadiums Evacuated After Bomb Scare

In a similar incident, the Holkar Stadium in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, was also evacuated after receiving a bomb threat on the same day. This was the second bomb threat at the stadium in just three days.

Jitendra Singh Yadav, the in-charge of Tukoganj police station, confirmed that the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) had received an email threatening to blow up the stadium.

However, no suspicious objects were found. The MPCA had received a similar hoax email on May 9.

This isn’t the first time the stadiums have been targeted. Last week, a bomb threat led to the evacuation of the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur after a similar threat was sent by email. The Rajasthan Sports Council president, Neeraj A.

Pawan, confirmed that the threat was also sent via email and was reported to the police. Authorities quickly brought in a bomb disposal squad and frisking team to investigate, and the stadium was fully evacuated.

"The mail was sent to the official email ID of the Sports Council. Acting on this, the stadium was vacated. The Bomb Disposal Squad, with the help of the Dog Squad, is conducting an investigation," he said.

Tensions between India and Pakistan have been high since the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam on April 22, which killed 26 people, mostly tourists. This has likely contributed to the bomb threats targeting cricket stadiums.

Eden Gardens Also Received Bomb Threat

Earlier in April, Kolkata’s Eden Gardens Stadium also received a bomb threat during the IPL 2025 match between KKR and CSK. The Cricket Association of Bengal was the recipient of the threatening email, which came from an unknown sender.
