5. Rohit Sharma

Called as 'Hitman' by his fans, Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from Test cricket on 7th May 2025. He chose a very simple style to let his fans know. Sharma posted his Test cap along with the message of his retirment. Also, he mentioned that he will continue his ODI career.
4. Rahul Dravid
Rahul Dravid is considered one of the best Test players in the history of Indian cricket. 'The Wall' hung up his boots through a press conference on March 2012 through a press conference at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Post the Sachin Tendulkar era, Virat Kohli had been the most prolific run-scorers for the Indian team. Known as 'The King', Kohli played Test cricket for 14 years. In a very impactful career, Kohli played 123 matches and scored 9,230 runs in then at an average of 46.85 along with 30 centuries.
As for leaving the game, Kohli posted a message where he signed off with his Test cap number. Quite emotionally the message by Kohli marked the end of a remarkable era of cricketing brilliance and excellence.
2. MS Dhoni

MS Dhoni has always been subtle about his decisions and how he has carried himself on and off the field. Known as one of the most successful captains of Indian cricket, MS Dhoni hung up his boots on the 15th of August, 2020. To bid farewell to the game, Dhoni just posted an edited video with the background music of a famous hindi song - 'Main pal do pal ka shayar hu' and the message - 'Considered me retired from 19:29'.

The legend of the game announced his retirement after playing his 200th Test at the Wankhede cricket stadium. He gave a very emotional speech that made that left tears in the eyes of all the Indian cricket fans.
