In a major development, the iconic Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata received a threatening email during the high-voltage clash between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) last night. The tense affair concluded with CSK's win, as the MS Dhoni-led side secured its third victory of the ongoing season.

Bomb Threat Rocks KKR vs CSK Match

The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) received an email from an anonymous handle, threatening to carry out a terrorist attack at the venue. The cricketing body informed it to the police, as investigation got underway swiftly following the incident. As per the latest report, the officials are probing the matter.

"The mail was detected from an unknown ID in CAB's official email during the match. Police are investigating, and security at Eden Gardens has been beefed up," CAB president Snehasish Ganguly was quoted as saying by TOI.

The incident coincides with the ongoing tussle between India and Pakistan along and beyond the Line Of Control (LOC). On the night of May 7, India conducted multiple airstrikes as a part of "Operation Sindoor", a high-profile counter-terrorism military action.

Following India's strong response to the brutal Pahalgam Terrorist attack, Pakistan retaliated through artillery firings, targeting innocent civilians in close proximity of the border.

As the situation seems escalated, with the neighbouring countries getting engaged in a military conflict, the CAB has taken the terror threat seriously, asking the police and investigating agency for prompt action. As the CAB president revealed, all safety protocols are being followed, with the security personnel closely monitoring the situation around the iconic cricketing venue.

Regarding the match, CSK registered a thrilling two-wicket victory over KKR at Eden Gardens last night. Batting first, the Knight Riders posted a respectable total of 179 runs, which the Super Kings chased in a dramatic final-over finish, riding on MS Dhoni's late blitz.
