After a comprehensive victory in the first T20I against Sri Lanka, the second match of the series will take place tonight at the same venue (Pallekele).

The Gautam Gambhir era kicked-off in style as the Indian team scored 213/7, courtesy of a sublime 26-ball 58 from the new Indian captain, Suryakumar Yadav. Also, there were useful contributions from Rishabh Pant and Yashasvi Jaiswal as India posted a commanding total.

In reply, Sri Lanka started on the front-foot, and at one stage were comfortably placed at 150/2, before the collapse took place. The target was eventually too big as the Indian side took a 1-0 lead in the series.

Rain to play spoilspot in 2nd T20I

The series is on the line for the Lankan Lions, but there is a bad news for the cricket lovers. There is possibility of rain in the evening and that could spoil the fun for both the teams.

As per Accuweather, there is a 40% chance of rain and 20% chance of thunderstorm. The cloud cover is 98% and light shower is likely to take place during the match. Sri Lankan ground-staff are swift and have the ability to cover the entire field quickly, which is a saving grace.

If India win the 2nd T20I, they'll take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.
