Experienced Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav showcased his exceptional hitting skills in India's ongoing first T20I against Sri Lanka at Pallekele International Stadium in Kandy. 

After India lost well-set openers, Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal, in quick succession, Suryakumar helped the visitors bounce back with an aggressive knock.

Regarded as India's Mr 360, skipper Surya took a particular liking for fellow IPL teammate Dilshan Madushanka, smashing him all around the park during his whirlwind knock.


The incident occurred during the eighth over of the Indian innings after the visitors lost the prized wicket of Jaiswal. 

After conceding three runs off his first three deliveries, Madushanka bowled a full-length ball in the stumps line, which Surya flicked over the square leg for a six. 

He followed it up with his trademark shot over the fine leg, collecting consecutive boundaries on the last two balls. 

His onslaught helped India score 17 runs off Madushanka's third over, as the bowler recorded a forgettable spell. 

Earlier, India were off to a flier, courtesy of the fireworks from Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Madushanka drew the first blood for Sri Lanka, dismissing Gill for a quick-fire 16-ball 34. 

Although Jaiswal got out for 40, Surya and Rishbah Pant have steadied the ship, adding 38 runs for the 3rd wicket as of writing.
