Just when it looked like Sri Lanka will run away with the contest, Axar Patel produced a moment of magic to snatch the game in India's favour.

Chasing a tricky 214, Sri Lanka needed a strong start, and they got it from openers Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis. The duo added 84 for the first wicket before Mendis was dismissed by Arshdeep Singh.

Despite Mendis' wicket, Nissanka stood tall and played arguably the innings of his life. He tonked the Indian bowlers across the park and kept up with the required rate as he aimed to slam a sensational ton. However, just when things were in Sri Lanka's favour, Axar's twin strike derailed their momentum.

In the 15th over, Axar Patel came around the wicket and bowled an arm-ball which came back into Nissanka. The Sri Lankan batter gave room to himself, but gets beaten all ends up as the ball goes onto rattle the stumps.

He followed it up with another game-changing delivery to dismiss Kusal Perera and firmly put India in the driving seat.

The dismissal of Nissanka triggered a collapse as the Lankan Lions lost the plot and failed to stay up with the required rate. Axar ended his spell with figures of 2/38 inside 4 overs.
