On Sunday, Bhuvneshwar Kumar affectionately known as 'Swing King' turned heads as he became the most expensive purchase ever in the history of Uttar Pradesh T20 League.

Leaving his previous team Noida Super Kings behind, this season he would be seen donning the Lucknow Falcons jersey. The medium-pacer was purchased for a whopping amount of INR 30.25 Lakh ahead of the upcoming season.

Interestingly, in the Indian Premier League, Bhuvneshwar Kumar plays for SunRisers Hyderabad where he was purchased for INR 4.2 crores in 2021.

The tournament is set to feature players like Nitish Rana, Mohsin Khan, Shivam Mavi, Yash Dayal and veteran Piyush Chawla. With the aim to find youngsters and give them a platform to prepare for the national and international events.

According to TOI, CEO of UPCA Ankit Chatterjee said “UPCA will conduct the mega auction for the second edition of UPT20 League on July 28 at Centrum Hotel.”

The upcoming season of the tournament is set to take place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium from Aug 25 to Sep 14.
