Kane Williamson has congratulated the New Zealand cricket team for securing a historic Test series win in India. Under the leadership of Tom Latham, the New Zealanders won each of the three Tests against India, and jumped back into the 2023-25 WTC reckoning in the process.

Williamson himself was ruled out of the series for sustaining a groin injury during New Zealand’s preceding Test trip to Sri Lanka back in September.

On Monday, November 4; i.e., a day after New Zealand completed their 3-0 routing of Team India, legendary batter Kane Williamson extended his congratulations for Tom Latham’s troops. Taking to his Instagram account, the 34-year-old wrote:

“History from the brothers! Incredible few weeks”

By defeating Team India in the series opener at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium by eight wickets, New Zealand registered their first Test win on Indian soil after a gap of 36 years. In a matter of two more weeks, the New Zealand team had three wins to its name in the space of a single tour by securing emphatic victories in Pune and Mumbai next up.

Will Young was adjudged ‘Player of the Series’ for minting 244 runs. The 31-year-old cracked twin half-centuries on a challenging Wankhede surface in the third Test, thus engineering New Zealand’s 25-run win in a dead-rubber alongside 11-wicket collector Ajaz Patel.

Senior man Kane Williamson, meanwhile, played the last of his 102 Tests back in September this year during New Zealand’s two-match series in Sri Lanka. The seasoned New Zealand campaigner was subsequently ruled out of India tour to work on his rehabilitation back home from a groin injury.
