Virat Kohli has received a stunning portrait of Lord Hanuman, a deity in Hinduism, from a fan in Mumbai. The legendary Indian cricketer also shared a friendly interaction with the fan, and a short video of the same has since gone viral on social media.
Kohli recently played a Test match for Team India against New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium. The 36-year-old registered scores of just four and one in both innings, which subsequently compounded in India’s crushing 25-run defeat to concede their three-match Test series by a 0-3 margin.
Fan gifts Bajrang Bali portrait to Virat Kohli
On Monday, November 4; i.e., a day after India’s humiliating defeat to New Zealand, senior batter Virat Kohli received a beautiful portrait of Bajrang Bali from an ardent fan in Mumbai. Kohli graciously accepted the gift, and also shared a friendly interaction with the fan.
As far as cricketing action is concerned, Virat Kohli is currently undergoing one of the worst phases of his Test career. The 36-year-old just finished India’s five-match home season against Bangladesh and New Zealand by tallying just 192 runs from 10 innings at a belowpar average of 21.33. While he recorded his 9,000th Test run in the process, Kohli’s batting average has now dropped below 48.
The legendary Indian cricketer will now be taking flight to Australia for a grueling five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series against the hosts. The first Test of the series will be hosted by the Optus Stadium in Perth from November 22 onwards.
With crucial WTC points on the line, it is imperative for Virat Kohli to regain his lost touch with the bat if Team India is to make amends for their home series defeat to New Zealand. The drubbing at the hands of New Zealand costed the Indian team their number one rank on the 2023-25 WTC points table.
