The Senior Selection Committee of the Mumbai Cricket Association has unveiled a 24-player list of probables for Mumbai for the upcoming 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season. Star all-rounder Shardul Thakur has been appointed as new captain of the team after Ajinkya Rahane relinquished his leadership duties. Senior man Shreyas Iyer and Indian Test opener Yashasvi Jaiswal have been excluded from the squad, with the former having requested a timeout from red-ball cricket citing fitness concerns.

ICC punishes Farhan, Haris Rauf and Suryakumar Yadav

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has punished Pakistan cricketers Sahibzada Farhan and Haris Rauf for demonstrating controversial gestures against Team India in their latest Super Four match of the 2025 Asia Cup earlier this week. As per a report, Haris Rauf was slapped with a 30 percent match fee, while Farhan was chastised for his act and let off with a warning. Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav was also penalized 30 percent of his match fees after the PCB objected to his post-match comments.

Mayank Agarwal’s Leeds epic occurred just a day after the BCCI confirmed Team India’s squad for the West Indies Test series. The 34-year-old played the last of his 21 Test matches for India back in March 2022 during a home series against Sri Lanka.

Arundhati Reddy “fit and fine” after pre-World Cup 2025 injury

India fast bowler Arundhati Reddy has been declared “fit and fine” after suffering a knee injury against England Women during a 2025 Women’s World Cup warm-up game in Bengaluru, as per a BCCI source while speaking with the Times of India. The speedster was struck on her left knee while attempting to snare a caught-and-bowled from a drive off Heather Knight. The speedster subsequently walked off the field after bowling just 4.4 overs, conceding 34 runs in the process with a prized scalp of Amy Jones. The 28-year-old is expected to resume her Team India duties in the upcoming 2025 Women’s World Cup at home.
