Jagadeesan to join Shubman Gill-led Test squad for WI series
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled India’s 15-player squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against West Indies. Since Rishabh Pant is all set to miss the series owing to his injury, the selection committee called up N Jagadeesan as the cricketer’s replacement. Dhruv Jurel, however, will be expected to continue as first-choice wicketkeeper of the team. Senior pros like Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja as well as star attractions like Washington Sundar and Yashasvi Jaiswal will be accompanying captain Shubman Gill in India’s WTC 2025-27 series.
Taskin Ahmed joins elite BAN club after spell vs Pakistan
Senior fast bowler Taskin Ahmed delivered tight spell of 3-28 against Pakistan in the virtual semifinal match of the 2025 Men’s T20 Asia Cup. The speedster also completed 100 T20I wickets in the process, reaching the landmark figure with the prized scalp of Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan in the first over of the match. Taskin Ahmed has now become only the third Bangladesh bowler in history to reach 100 T20I wickets, after former captain and legendary all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and active teammate Mustafizur Rahman.
Suresh Raina joins Toronto Sixers in Canada Super 60 2025
Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina has joined the Toronto Sixers squad for the upcoming Canada Super 60 2025 season in Canada. The 2011 World Cup winner will be joining the likes of blistering English openers Alex Hales and Jason Roy, Australian all-round duo of Dan Christian and Daniel Sams as well as Afghanistan superstar Rahmanullah Gurbaz in a star-studded 15-player group.

Mumbai Indians Women rope in Lisa Keightley as coach for WPL 2026
Former Australia cricketer Lisa Keightley has been roped in by the Mumbai Indians Women franchise as their new head coach for the upcoming Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 season next year. Keightley will be replacing ex-English player Charlotte Edwards. Interestingly, Edwards guided the Mumbai Indians Women team to their record second title triumph earlier this year. Under the leadership of the charismatic Harmanpreet Kaur, the Mumbai Indians Women team will enter the WPL 2026 season as defending champions.
Ravichandran Ashwin officially signs up with Sydney Thunder for BBL
Legendary all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin has officially signed up with the Sydney Thunder team for the upcoming Big Bash League (BBL) 2025-26 season in Australia. The former Indian international also became the first-ever male player to have represented Team India to join any BBL team in history. Ravichandran Ashwin will be expected to join the Thunder squad in early January, just as the tournament will be heading into its decisive stage. Ashwin recently confirmed his retirement from IPL, thus making himself eligible to participate in overseas T20 leagues.
