The India A team is currently busy playing against Australia A in the second unofficial Test match in Lucknow, as the visitors hold the domination at the end of Day 3. India ended the day on 169/2, still needing a further 243 runs to seal the win against the visiting Australians. However, the home side suffered a major health scare in the form of KL Rahul.
The India A opening batter played a gritty knock and kept India alive in the game with a solid fifty, but at 74, KL Rahul retired hurt and walked back to the pavilion, and it was a worrying sign for Team India. He didn’t suffer any injury, but the Karnataka batter looked in discomfort as he left the ground while inching closer to his hundred.
Why KL Rahul retired hurt at 74?
At first, many expected that there was an internal injury, but according to reports by RevSportz, KL Rahul was suffering from fever as he decided to walk back to the pavilion. The batter played some extraordinary shots, but after his fifty, he didn’t look comfortable in the middle, and with the Test series coming up, he made the right choice.
The batter failed to deliver in the first innings as he could only score 11 off 24 balls before being dismissed by Will Sutherland. Whether he would bat on Friday remains unclear at the moment.

Ever since he cemented a permanent place at the opening slot, KL Rahul has done well, and in the recent Test series vs England, the Karnataka batter amassed 532 runs in five matches, at an average of 53.20, including two brilliant centuries.
