Much to the relief of Ben Stokes & Co., the England and Wales Cricket Board has found no misconduct from the English players after alleged excessive drinking during The Ashes tour 2025-26.

Several reports emerged that the travelling party indulged in irresponsible drinking during their short break on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast after England slipped to 3-0 against Australia. However, England team director Rob Key claimed that the team was ‘well-behaved’.

ECB shares 'no misconduct' verdict for Noosa row

Though several videos of Ben Duckett emerged on social media that saw him drunk and almost out of his senses, after partying late in the night, the ECB has concluded the verdict with the news that no disciplinary action will be taken against the players.

The procedure of the inquiry was not disclosed to the public, and the verdict was drafted against ‘beer drinking’ and no other misconduct. As per The Daily Mail, if the ECB found anything to be of concern, it would have been identified and resolved immediately rather than waiting for the Ashes loss.

For the unaware, Ben Duckett was seen semi-unconscious in the video as he slurred and struggled to walk, asking for help after consuming excessive alcohol at a late-night party.

Noosa drinking marked green as England head for Sydney Test

The England cricket team had security personnel assigned for the trip to Noosa which also authorised to intervene if any misbehaviour or red flag activities appeared. However, they weren’t needed to jump in, and the break was more like a bachelorette party, as per Rob Key.

Nevertheless, this will give the Lions a heave of relief as they head for their next and last assignment Down Under on January 4 in Sydney. After they saved their pride from the Whitewash against Australia, they would like to end the series on a high note by making it 3-2.
