The Lord's Test between India and England is already heated up and for all the wrong reasons. With India currently struggling to chase the target of 193 by England on Day 5, things got nasty between Ravindra Jadeja and Brydon Carse on the field.

Earlier, in Lord's on Day 3, spectators witnessed a verbal brawl between Shubman Gill and Zak Crawley which went unnoticed by ICC. Another heated celebration from Mohammed Siraj and a physical confrontation with Duckett saw the former get fined 15% of his match fees. However, things get interesting with the recent Jadeja-Carse brawl on Day 5.

What Happened Between Jadeja And Carse?

During Carse's over, when Nitish Reddy was still at the crease and India was cruising steadily towards the chase ahead of lunch, the towering bowler pitched a short-length delivery which Jadeja pushed in the deep. The chaos happened during Jadeja's running.

When Ravindra Jadeja started running, he unintentionally crashed with Carse who was standing close to the pitch. Carse's arm went around Jadeja's shoulder which looked like an attempt to stop him from running. Jadeja somehow broke the strangle and completed a double.

After completing his run, Jadeja came back at Carse stressing that he didn't want to intentionally collide with him and that it was an accident. Carse, confused had a dead stare towards Jadeja as he mouthed something back at the batter too. Stokes came in between to dissolve the heat as Jadeja swerved past Carse to have a chat with Nitish.

Whom Might ICC Punish And Under What Circumstances?

Looking at the current scenario, ICC might charge Brydon Carse with two offences as per the Code of Conduct. Since Jadeja went down his own track for the run and also came back to clear out his intent on the collision instead of foul-mouthing or verbally abusing, ICC might bring the spotlight on Carse.

As per ICC's Code of Conduct, Carse might get signed under the clauses of 'unfair play' where Clause 2.10.1 under Article 2.10 says, "deliberate attempt to distract striker" and Clause 2.10.2 states, "deliberate distraction, deception or obstruction of batter."

While the punishment from ICC is not certain, if inspected closely, Carse appears to have violated these codes of conduct and might be held accountable after the match to be booked under a Level 1 offence.
