The 2025 Lord's Test between India and England is turning out to be one of the finest games between the two sides. The pendulum swung from one team to another throughout the game, and at Lunch on the final day, the home team needs two wickets while the visitors are still 81 runs away from the target.
Indian Bowlers Deliver Timber-Shattering Deliveries
Plenty of records have been broken on the way, but there is one of them which would be pretty hard to break in the upcoming years. Out of the 38 wickets that have fallen in the Test, 14 have been bowled, which is the most for a Test match since 2000. Indian bowlers have contributed 12 of those wickets, while England bowlers cleaned up Akash Deep and Pant in the second innings.
It speaks a lot about the pitch and the line bowlers have preferred on it. There has been uneven bounce throughout the match, and to exploit it, the bowlers have targeted the stumps.
Previously, most bowled dismissals were 13 in a 21st-century Test match. There have been four such instances, and two of them were from the same series between India and South Africa in 2015. The 2012 Test match between Pakistan and England also saw 13 batters getting bowled, as did the game between West Indies and South Africa in Port Of Spain.
