A dramatic fourth day at Lord's left India reeling at 58/4, chasing 193 for victory in the third Test. Unpredictable bounce and fierce bowling, highlighted by Brydon Carse's terrifying spell and a crucial Ben Stokes wicket just before stumps, tilted the match decisively towards England after Washington Sundar's earlier four-wicket haul (4/22) restricted the hosts to 192.

Despite bringing the game to a balance, Marcus Trescothick assessed the current position of the team while voicing his desire to get a 250 plus total on board for India to chase.

Trescothick Positive Despite Not Having 250 Plus

England batting coach Marcus Trescothick assessed the challenging conditions and his team's position in a post-match press conference.

"I think we always wanted 250-plus, of course we did. But I think after the first innings it was really hard to judge what a good score was going to be because there was definitely more variation in bounce this morning than we had seen at any time in the game really," Marcus said.

Trescothick then shared how important it is to move on as he stressed that England will make things tougher for India in the final day.

"Again, we would have loved to have had more runs than what we did but I still feel like we have got a decent score on the board with something to really push towards tomorrow. So, I do not think we are going to sit back and dwell on what has happened today too much. We will look forward to what is going to happen tomorrow," Trescothick added.

Trescothick Stresses Momentum On Final Day

Marcus Trescothick also pinpointed the crucial phase for the final day as he stated, "It will revolve around the first hour of the day tomorrow, how positive India can be, how dominant we can be with the ball and how many early wickets we can get."

With India needing 135 more runs but only six wickets remaining, including Rahul and the dangerous Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja, the stage is set for a gripping finale at the Home of Cricket.
