Australia's elite domestic competitions will play a vital role in a blockbuster cricket summer, with schedules announced to complement international fixtures and the Big Bash League. The Sheffield Shield takes centre stage for Ashes preparation, featuring four rounds before the first Test in Perth, while the Women's National Cricket League (WNCL), One Day Cup, and T20 Spring Challenge provide crucial pathways for emerging talent.

CA Emphasises Opportunity and Excitement For Summer

Peter Roach, CA Head of Cricket Operations and Scheduling, highlighted the significance of the schedule to Cricket Australia.

"Leading into perhaps Australia’s biggest ever summer of cricket, we are delighted to announce the schedule for our domestic competitions, where the depth and evenness of our teams remains very high," Roach said.

Roach also expressed his wish to expect support from the Australian Cricketers’ Association to make the summer a successful one.

"We look forward to the beginning of our domestic season on September 16 and thank the State and Territory Associations and the Australian Cricketers’ Association for their ongoing support," Roach said.
