Shikhar Dhawan’s life has seen many changes recently, both personally and professionally. It is important to mention that Shikhar Dhawan has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket, ending a remarkable career that saw him represent India in numerous Test, ODI, and T20I matches.
Additionally, his personal life changed significantly after his divorce from Ayesha Mukherjee. Will Shikhar Dhawan Play In IPL 2025?
Earlier this year, Dhawan also announced his retirement, and fans were surprised by this sudden decision. He has played only five games in 2024 IPL edition due to shoulder injury, and this could be one reason that the former cricketer decided to draw curtains from his career.
“I didn’t want to play domestic cricket, which I started playing at the age of 18 or 19, and I didn’t have that inspiration from inside to play that (form of) cricket. The last two years of my career, I wasn’t playing much international cricket, and I was playing IPL to IPL. So, I wasn’t playing much overall." Dhawan explained in the interview.
In an interview with PTI, Dhawan revealed that he no longer felt the motivation to continue playing competitive cricket, stating that he had lost the 'inspiration' to play domestic or IPL cricket.
