Virat Kohli's Unreal Craze In Pune

During the 46th over, when Ravichandran Ashwin was getting ready to bowl the crowd wasted no time and started chanting Kohli's name as he was the was trying to get the field right. This is not the first time fans have been chanting this slogan at a cricket field. It was a day filled with chants from the crowd as at one point, "RCB RCB" chants were also heard when Virat was fielding at the boundary.

It is important to mention that Virat Kohli has been going through a challenging phase in recent times, and it would be interesting to see him play as he comes to bat in India's 1st innings.

India's Spin Dominance In the New Zealand's First Innings

Earlier in the match, New Zealand won the toss and opted to bowl first. Washington Sundar delivered a stunning performance to spin India into a commanding position, as New Zealand were bowled out for 259 on Day 1 of the ongoing Test. The 25-year-old all-rounder picked up a career-best 7/59, spearheading India's bowling attack and reducing New Zealand to a below-par total after a promising start by the visitors.

New Zealand began cautiously with openers Tom Latham and Devon Conway providing a solid foundation. However, they were soon undone by India's spinners. The Kiwis staged a remarkable recovery in the second session, courtesy of a gritty partnership between Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra.

Sundar’s variations, control, and ability to extract turn on a wearing pitch proved too much for the Kiwis. The visitors lost their last seven wickets for just 89 runs. None of the lower-order batters offered much resistance. Santner tried to steady the innings but was eventually bowled by Sundar, marking the end of New Zealand’s innings in 79.1 overs.
