India-Australia Women ODI shifted [Source: @ICC/X.com]
The upcoming third women’s ODI between Australia and India, scheduled for March 1, 2026, has been moved from Melbourne to Hobart due to delays in installing floodlights at Junction Oval. The match was supposed to be Melbourne’s first women’s international under lights, but with the floodlight installation not completed on time, Cricket Australia (CA) decided to shift the match.
According to ESPN Cricinfo, Bellerive Oval in Hobart will host the third ODI between India and Australia Women in March 2026. This gives Hobart back-to-back ODIs in the series, as it will also host the second game.
Due to the tight schedule (only one day between the second and third ODIs), it wasn’t practical to change the Melbourne match into a daytime fixture. The MCG, which could have been a backup option, is also unavailable due to ongoing renovations.
That being said, Junction Oval will still host WBBL matches for both Melbourne Stars and Melbourne Renegades, but those will remain daytime games, along with other domestic matches.
This ODI series is part of a multi-format tour between India and Australia, which includes three T20Is, three ODIs, and a day-night Test at the WACA in Perth.
The change also reflects a shift in the women's cricket calendar. With the Women’s Premier League (WPL) moving to January and the Women’s World Cup taking place in October, the Australian women’s home season has been pushed to February–March.
