Big Boost For MS Dhoni-Led CSK As Star Players Set To Be Fit Ahead of IPL 2024

In a significant boost for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the overseas trio of Devon Conway, Daryl Mitchell, and Rachin Ravindra are expected to be fully fit before the start of IPL 2024.

Mitchell, who was sidelined from the entire T20I series due to a foot injury, is set to return to action for the crucial Test series against Australia.

Meanwhile, Ravindra missed the second T20I due to knee pain, and Conway sustained a thumb injury during the same match in Auckland on February 23. New Zealand head coach Gary Stead stated that Ravindra's condition would be monitored over the next 24 hours, with a decision on his availability expected just before the third T20I.

Although initially, X-rays ruled out a fracture for Conway, he will head back to Wellington to undergo further evaluation by a hand specialist to determine the extent of his injury.

On the domestic front, Shivam Dube suffered a bilateral side strain injury while playing for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy, leading to his absence for the entire season.

Reports suggest that Dube could be sidelined for eight weeks, potentially causing him to miss some matches in IPL 2024. CSK is reportedly considering signing Sarfaraz Khan as his replacement. Dube played a significant role in CSK's title victory last season, accumulating over 400 runs.

In addition to the injured players, CSK's new recruit, Mustafizur Rahman, has also been ruled out due to injury concerns, raising doubts about his participation in the upcoming IPL season.

With IPL 2024 scheduled to begin on March 22, with CSK facing the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the opening match, the team awaits the fitness status of the injured players.

Under the leadership of the iconic MS Dhoni, CSK is gearing up to host a training camp before the start of this year's IPL. Prominent players such as Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Mukesh Choudhary and Prashant Solanki are expected to participate in the camp to prepare for the upcoming season.
