He may be at the fag end of his career, but that doesn't stop Matthew Wade from amazing everyone with his on-field antics, not just with the bat but also with gloves in hand. In a moment of brilliance from Wade, he took a stupendous catch to dismiss Will Young in the second T20I between New Zealand and Australia in Auckland on February 23.

Chasing a challenging target of 175, the BlackCaps suffered an early setback with the dismissal of Finn Allen and the absence of Devon Conway to open the batting. Australia, having already dismissed the dangerous Finn Allen, were eager for another breakthrough, which came in the form of Will Young.

On the first delivery of Pat Cummins’ second over, Young, attempting to break free, fell cheaply for five runs as he mistimed a pull shot. As the ball soared into the air, Wade, stationed behind the stumps, swiftly moved towards it and, with impeccable timing, completed a remarkable catch near the backward square leg region.

Wade's sprint towards the ball was a testament to his agility and commitment to making the catch. The 36-year-old's acrobatic effort left his teammates and spectators in awe, celebrating the extraordinary feat from the veteran cricketer.

Following Young's dismissal, New Zealand struggled to build momentum, losing wickets at regular intervals. Apart from Glenn Phillips, who fought valiantly with his 42 off 35 balls, no other batsman made a significant contribution.

Eventually, New Zealand succumbed to pressure and were bowled out for 102 in 17 overs, with the fielding side conceding 8 extras.

In the first innings, Australia, sent in to bat by New Zealand, started strongly, courtesy of Travis Head's aggressive 45 off 22 balls. With this victory, Australia secured the series 2-0 with one game remaining.
