In a significant development, the Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced a formidable 16-member men's squad for the upcoming Test series against India. Najmul Hossain Shanto will lead the team as expected, with Shoriful Islam missing out on selection due to an injury.

Led by Najmul Hossain Shanto, Bangladesh recently registered an emphatic victory on Pakistani soil, clean-sweeping the hosts in a two-match Test series. They kickstarted the tour with a clinical ten-wicket win before completing a historic whitewash in Rawalpindi.

However, despite the heroic performance, the Tigers made one significant change to their squad for the India tour, replacing Shoriful Islam with Jaker Ali. The batter's inclusion could be Bangladesh's strategic move to bolster their middle order to withstand India's rampant bowling attack.

In-Form Litton Das To Spearhead Bangladesh's Batting Unit With Mushfiqur Rahim

Keeper-batter Litton Das, who recently struck a magnificent Test hundred against Pakistan, will spearhead Bangladesh's batting unit alongside the experienced duo of Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim. Shadman Islam and Zakir Hasan form a gritty opening combination, while Mominul Haque will play a crucial role at number four for the visitors.

Mehidy Hasan And Nahid Rana: Two Exciting Prospects For India Tests

Considering his incredible all-round attributes, Mehidy Hasan Miraz is expected to be one of the key players for Bangladesh. Besides outfoxing the batters with his guile, Miraz can contribute handy runs lower down the order.

The eyes will also be on Nahid Rana, who emerged as Babar Azam's nemesis in the recently held Test series between Pakistan and Bangladesh. In Shoriful's absence, Taskin Ahmed will lead the Tigers' pace battery along with Nahid and Hasan Mahmud in the high-octane series.
