Former India captain Virat Kohli is known for his fiery temperament on the field. This trait has often fuelled his performances, leading to numerous match-winning centuries and crucial moments for his team. This intensity, which he wields as a weapon, has been witnessed by both his opponents and teammates.

One such moment occurred in an IPL 2017 match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Gujarat Lions (GL), where Kohli's aggression was on full display in an exchange with Ishan Kishan.

During the match, RCB posted a formidable total of 213 runs, led by half-centuries from Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli himself. In reply, Gujarat Lions faced an uphill battle. Amidst the chase, Ishan Kishan, who was then a rising star, showcased his talent and temperament and scored a blistering 39 off just 16 balls.

However, the highlight of the match was a heated moment between Kohli and Kishan. Ishan Kishan ducked a bouncer from RCB bowler Sreenath Arvind and was greeted with a verbal outburst from Kohli, who was in the field close by.

Virat Kohli’s Strong Supporter To Ishan Kishan During His Rough Phase

However, Virat Kohli's aggressive side is just one facet of his personality. Off the field, the former India captain has been a strong supporter of young cricketers and often guided and backed them during difficult phases in their careers. Ishan Kishan, who experienced Kohli's temper in 2017, later benefited from the veteran’s mentorship.

In 2021, Ishan Kishan was struggling with form, which led to concerns over his performance. Kohli then stepped in to support the young wicketkeeper-batter, offering words of encouragement and publicly backing him in an IPL match.

Kohli's journey, from being a fiery competitor to a mentor for the next generation, serves as an inspiration for players looking to make their mark on the international stage.
