Markram, Pooran Thump Gujarat Titans
Gujarat Titans fell to a six-wicket defeat in the final over of match number 26 of the IPL 2025 season in Lucknow to hosts Lucknow Super Giants. Batting first, the Titans hauled 180-6 with half-centuries from both openers Sai Sudharsan (56 off 37) and Shubman Gill (60 off 38).
In response, opening batter Aiden Markram bludgeoned 58 runs from 31 balls to get LSG off to a flying start. Even though Prasidh Krishna delivered a tight four-over spell for the Titans, the LSG romped to an easy win courtesy of Nicholas Pooran’s explosive 34-ball 61.
Abhishek Sharma Flays PBKS As SRH Claim Record Win
The SRH franchise pulled off one of the biggest successful run-chases in IPL history, doing so against Punjab Kings in match 27 of the IPL 2025 season in Hyderabad. Punjab Kings batted first and racked up 245-6 from 20 overs, with captain Shreyas Iyer top-scoring with 82 runs from just 36 balls. For the hosts, fast bowler Harshal Patel picked up impressive figures of 4-42 in the high-scoring innings.
Later in the game, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma shared 171 runs in just 12.2 overs for the ‘Orange Army’, with the former chipping in with 66 from 37 balls. Young Abhishek, meanwhile, blasted 141 off 55 balls with 14 boundaries and 10 huge sixes to record one of the fastest IPL centuries, as SRH soared past the visitors with eight wickets to spare in the penultimate over.
Gladiators Wallop Babar Azam’s Peshawar Zalmi
Quetta Gladiators batted first and amassed 216-3 from 20 overs in the second match of the PSL 2025 season at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Opening batters Saud Shakeel (59 off 42) and Finn Allen (53 off 25) both smeared sweltering half-centuries before Rilee Rossouw’s (21* off 10) and Kusal Mendis (35* off 14) bludgeoned fiery cameos in the death overs.
Chasing 217, the Peshawar Zalmi franchise folded up for just 136 in 15.1 overs, with comeback man and dashing young opener Saim Ayub himself minting 50 off those runs from 38 balls. As many as five batters, including Babar Azam, fell for ducks to hand Gladiators a big win to start off their season. Abrar Ahmed hogged the limelight with the ball for the Gladiators by collecting figures of 4-42.
Mohammad Rizwan’s Ton Lights Up PSL 2025
Multan Sultans skipper and opening batter Mohammad Rizwan charted 105 unbeaten runs from just 63 balls against Karachi Kings in match three of the PSL 2025 season in Karachi. The senior right-handed opener smeared nine boundaries and five sixes in the process.
Rizwan’s knock against Karachi Kings at the National Stadium helped Multan Sultans mount 234-3 from 20 overs after they were put into bat first by home captain David Warner.
Glenn Phillips Ruled Out Of IPL 2025 For Titans
New Zealand cricketer Glenn Phillips has been ruled out of the remainder of the IPL 2025 season for the Gujarat Titans franchise owing to a groin injury. The 28-year-old suffered the injury while fielding against the Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 6. An IPL statement confirmed that Phillips has now been returned to New Zealand.
Notably, the Titans franchise is yet to name his replacement. They are currently ranked second on the IPL 2025 points table for securing four wins and sustaining two defeats from six games.
