Lucknow Super Giants beat Gujarat Titans by 6 wickets to win their 4th game of the season. While GT got off to a good start with a 120-run opening partnership, they finished with 180 runs. In the chase, Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran unleashed carnage as their quick fifties sealed a comfortable victory for LSG.

Here’s how LSG vs GT panned out in Lucknow:

Sudharsan-Gill Dominate LSG With 120-Run Partnership

Gujarat Titans batted first and opener Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill unleashed carnage. The duo attacked LSG bowlers head-on to knit a massive 120-run opening partnership. Both batters scored a half century each and Gill was quicker with 60 off 38 balls. Sudharsan moved up in the IPL 2025 season orange cap list with 56 off 37 balls. The duo’s fireworks set the stage right for Titans as they aimed for a big total.

Middle-Order Collapse Leads GT To An Underwhelming Total

GT had 122 runs on the board at 13 overs but the middle order failed to capitalise on the momentum set by their openers. Jos Buttler and Washington Sundar went back with 16 and 2 respectively. Sherfane Rutherford also struggled to hit, scoring 22 off 19 balls. With no significant contribution from the middle-order, GT finished with 180 runs total.

LSG Cruise In Chase After Aiden Markram’s Half-Century

Since Mitchell Marsh wasn’t unavailable for this game, captain Rishabh Pant opened with Aiden Markram. Both openers got off to a great start before Markram stole the limelight with clean hitting. He quickly got to a half-century, scoring 58 off 31 balls with 9 boundaries and a solitary six.

Prasidh Krishna got two breakthroughs for GT, dismissing Pant on 21 and Markram on 58. However, the damage was already done and Nicholas Pooran’s blitz ruled out any odds of a comeback for the Titans.

Nicholas Pooran’s Lighting Knock Steers LSG To Big Win

After Markram departed, it was time for Nicholas Pooran to show his magic. He went after Sai Kishore to fetch a 24-run over which significantly reduced LSG’s required run rate. Pooran unleashed his carnage to slam a match-winning knock of 61 runs off 34 balls with a single boundary and 7 sixes.

GT made a comeback to extend the game until the final over. But with 6 needed off the final over, Ayush Badoni slammed a six and a four to seal a comfortable 6-wicket win for LSG, ending GT’s four-game winning streak.
