In a huge setback for Gujarat Titans (GT), premier all-rounder Glenn Phillips has been ruled out of IPL 2025 due to an injury. According to ESPN Cricinfo, Phillips has returned home after suffering a groin injury in the tournament.

Groin Injury Sidelines Phillips From IPL 2025

Notably, Glenn Phillips sustained a groin injury while fielding during the 19th IPL 2025 encounter between Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad. The injury looked nasty in real time, as Phillips didn't come out, even as a fielder, in the remainder of the game.

However, now, as the injury brings curtains down on his IPL 2025 ambitions, Phillips has travelled back to his home. A replacement will be announced by the Gujarat Titans in due course.

Glenn Phillips IPL Price

Renowned for his swashbuckling stroke play, useful off-spin and incredible fielding attributes, Glenn Phillips is regarded as one of the finest white-ball all-rounders in modern-day cricket.

The hard-hitting middle order batter, who can also chip in with a few overs of off-spin, surprisingly went unsold during the fist round of the IPL 2025 auction in Saudi Arabia last year.

However, the New Zealand cricketer managed to bag a lucrative deal worth his base price of 2 Crores, with Gujarat Titans purchasing him in the accelerated round towards the fag end of day 2. Before joining GT, Phillips was associated with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at a price of 1.5 Crores.

Although Gujarat Titans have used Sherfane Rutherford as their middle overs enforcer and finisher so far, it will be interesting to see who they bring in as the injury replacement of Phillips.
