Former India opener turned analyst Aakash Chopra has name-dropped seven bowlers who mastered the skill of bowling yorkers in cricket history.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Chopra, first, named Sri Lanka's Lasith Malinga as the best bowler to bowl yorkers.

“You cannot go far from him in modern-day cricket. You cannot look at anyone else apart from him. He made practising yorkers by keeping shoes popular – Lasith Malinga. Lasith Malinga was an absolute beast,” said Chopra.

The former India opener also mentioned Wasim Akram and his countryman and former teammate Waqar Younis in the list.

Bumrah and Shami find their way into the list

Chopra then shed light on Indian bowlers and named Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami as the ones to watch out for.

“That brings me to a white-ball and red-ball genius. He is also an absolute beast. He is our pride – Boom Boom Bumrah. What a bowler. The Yorker he bowled to Ollie Pope, you can keep watching it on a loop. I also remember Mohammed Shami. He is so brilliant. If you can see his debut, it was against the West Indies at the Eden Gardens, he had taken a five-wicket haul, and the yorkers were hitting the stumps. I think he had taken five wickets against South Africa in their second innings on the fifth day in Vizag. There also he bowled excellent yorkers,” explained Chopra.

Special Mention To Flintoff And Bravo

Chopra added that fans can debate over Andrew Flintoff and Dwayne Bravo's addition to the list but cleared that these two-star bowlers were his personal favourites. He talked about Flintoff's brilliance in 2005 Ashes, while praised Bravo's achievements in IPL.
