Dwayne Bravo has made a huge declaration regarding his CPL future through his social media account. On Saturday, August 31, the legendary West Indies all-rounder confirmed that the ongoing 2024 season will mark his final CPL appearance.

Bravo is currently plying his trade for the Trinbago Knight Riders franchise under the leadership of Kieron Pollard.

Bravo reflects TKR journey in farewell note

Dwayne Bravo made his CPL debut back in 2013 for the Trinbago Knight Riders franchise. To date, he has featured in over 100 CPL matches and is currently sitting on an illustrious pile of 128 wickets. The highest wicket-taker in the history of the tournament, Bravo has now announced his retirement from CPL.

On August 31, the 40-year-old confirmed that the ongoing CPL 2024 season will be his “final professional tournament” in front of “Caribbean people.” In his emotional farewell note, he also added that he wants to end his playing journey as a TKR all-rounder because his CPL career also launched with the same franchise back in 2013.

Back in December 2022, Dwayne Bravo also announced his retirement from IPL when he was a part of the MS Dhoni-led CSK franchise. Overall, the two-time T20 World Cup winning West Indies player has featured in 578 T20 matches all across the world, including 161 IPL games and 103 CPL outings.

Apart from leading CPL’s wicket-taking charts and proving himself to be one of the most successful fast bowlers in IPL history, Bravo is also the highest wicket collector across all T20 matches overall. The speedster has seized 630 wickets so far at a bowling average of 24.28.

Earlier this year, the 40-year-old former West Indies player was roped in by the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) as Afghanistan’s fast bowling consultant, mere days prior to the launch of the 2024 T20 World Cup.
