Harry Brook has pulled out of IPL 2024 due to personal reasons and it is a big blow to Delhi Capitals ahead of 17th edition. He was bought for 4 crore in the IPL 2024 auction held in December 2023 and it would be interesting to see how will fill the huge void left by the Englishman.
There are plenty of big names who were unsold in IPL 2024 and can be drafted in by Delhi Capitals. So, let's see the three options who are most likely to replace Harry Brook in DC squad for IPL 2024.
Sarfaraz Khan

Sarfaraz played for DC in IPL 2023 and had a forgettable out with just 53 runs in 4 matches. However, things have changed drastically in the last couple of months and Sarfaraz has made inroads at the international level with a brilliant performance in his debut Test series.
Though the runs came in the Test format, Sarfaraz is known for his aggressive strokeplay and with experience of DC camp in his CV, he might be preferred over other options. Also, he can bat anywhere in the batting line-up which makes Sarfaraz a quality option.
Jake Fraser-McGruk

According to some reports, Jake Fraser McGruk is one of the frontrunner to replace Harry Brook. He is an ultra aggressive batter and has recently grabbed eyeballs with some scintillating strokeplay.
He first came into limelight with a stunning 29-ball hundred for South Australia against Tasmania and was part of Dubai Capitals unit in ILT20 2024. He scored 109 runs in 3 innings with a strike rate of 213.73 and also made his ODI debut for Australia against the Windies. He slammed 41 off 18 balls in just his second ODI and it his ability to get going right from the onset makes him a hot asset and able replacement of Harry Brook.
Jason Holder

Jason Holder was one of the prominent unsold names in IPL 2024 auction and can be drafted in for his all-round skills and experience. He will provide more balance to the DC unit and if he can perform to his ability he can be handy.
However, his batting in IPL has been way below-par and that can go against him. He has scored his 259 runs at an average of just 12.33 while with the ball he has been expensive leaking runs at an economy rate of 8.81. He has the ability though to sparkle as he has done for West Indies, and can be given another go in the lucrative league.
Aaron Hardie

He is one of the finest young all-rounders in Australia and with Ricky Ponting as a head coach, he has a great chance to get his maiden IPL contract. He has been a consistent performer for Perth Scorchers in BBL and has also made his debut for Australia in ODIs and T20Is.
He is a genuine all-rounder who will provide great balance and with age on his side, he can develop into a world-class all-rounder.
