The IPL 2025 has already become a topic of discussion among cricket fans. With changes in the coaching roles and a mega auction scheduled ahead of the tournament, some interesting changes in the team dynamics are expected. 

One significant change that has already occurred is that Ricky Ponting has left the coaching job of the Delhi Capitals and joined the Punjab Kings. With the mega auction coming up, Ponting will some of the players from the Delhi Capitals team for the Punjab Kings in the upcoming season.

Here are three DC players that Ricky Ponting will target for PBKS during the IPL 2025 mega auction. 

3. Abhishek Porel

The young Indian keeper batter showed that he has the game to play at the highest level. Abhishek Porel used Panting as a floater in the batting order during the IPL 2024. The Australian great will like the same kind of dynamism and flexibility in the PBKS team, too. Therefore, one of the main targets for Ponting might be Abhishek Porel. 

2. Khaleel Ahmed

This Indian left-arm pacer emerged as one of the top performers for DC in the previous season. Khaleel Ahmed has the ability to give his team wickets at any stage of a game. Ricky Ponting will be happy to snap up an Indian left-arm pacer for the PBKS team if DC releases him. Besides, Ahmed's presence will allow Ponting to plan the rest of his team with greater flexibility.

1. Prithvi Shaw

The Indian opener has been a part of the Delhi Capitals since 2018. Prithvi Shaw showed much promise at the beginning of his career but failed to meet the expectations. However, Ricky Ponting rates Shaw pretty highly. Hence, he might go after the Indian batter during the mega auction. Having Prithvi Shaw will allow Ponting to form his batting line-up so the former can play his natural game at the top.
