The Champions Cup 2024 final between Panthers and Markhors is halfway through at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad. The Markhors, batting first, had a disastrous day with the bat as they tumbled for just 122 runs. 

Markhors were without regular skipper Mohammad Rizwan, who has withdrawn from the tournament along with other senior members to focus on the upcoming Test series against England. Iftikhar Ahmed was leading the side, and expectations were laid on him to lead his side by example.

However, Ahmed had a day to forget as he was again troubled with pace and returned to the pavilion with a score of just 3 (14). Ahmed has a history of being troubled by seamers, and even in the ongoing match, he collected his three runs against spin only. Seamer Mohammad Hasnain got rid of Iftikhar after he trapped him in front of the wicket on the first ball of the 25th over. 


It was a magical over from Hasnain as he took two wickets in the same over. He also Muhammad Abdul Samad out for a duck and produced a double-wicket maiden in the 26th over. 

The 24-year-old is having a series to remember as he took 17 wickets in six innings in the Champions Cup 2024. In the finals, Hasnain registered a three-wicket haul. He also took a three-wicket haul in the first qualifier.

Iftikhar Ahmed's Run In Champions Cup 2024

Iftikhar has been out of touch in international cricket and is under heavy criticism with the bat. However, he started the Champions Cup 2024 on a positive note when he smashed two consecutive fifty-plus scores. However, his form dipped, and since then, he has just 193 runs in six innings, averaging 38.60.
