India have recently announced their squad for the first Test of the two match series against Bangladesh. This match will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on the 19th of September. 

The Indian management have stressed on the performances of the players in the ongoing edition of the Duleep Trophy. The selection of Akashdeep was because of his sensational bowling show in the recently concluded Duleep Trophy match. 

Besides Akashdeep, players like KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and Axar Patel also delivered in the Duleep Trophy games and found their way into the squad. Let us have a look at the squad and then try to analyse the probable XI of India for the match.

Ahead of the game, here is a look at the how the Chennai pitch might behave. The way the pitch behaves will go a long way in determining the final XI that India decides to field in the game. 

The pitch at the MA Chidambaram stadium is known for its slowish and sluggish nature. The spinners generally have a big say in determining the fate of the game at this venue. The pitch at the Chidambaram Stadium is generally at its best for batting in the first two days. With the progress of the game, the wicket breaks and wears and brings the spinners heavily into the game. 

The Indian management will be keeping this in mind while selecting their XI for the match. 

Why Kuldeep And Siraj might miss the 1st Test?

Kuldeep Yadav might not be a part of the first Test. Though he is an integral part of the Indian bowling, Axar Patel's performance with the bat in the Duleep Trophy game might seem him being a part of the XI. Axar will add dept and dynamism to both the batting and bowling of the team. 

Along with Kuldeep, India might opt to drop Mohammed Siraj too for the first match. Siraj has not been in the best of bowling forms recently. Hence, the management might back Aksah Deep, who bowled brilliantly in the recently concluded Duleep Trophy game. 

Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul both came up with decent shows during the Duleep Trophy. These batters are expected to be a part of the middle order for the first Test. This means young Dhruv Jurel and Sarfaraz Khan, who did well in the England Test series previously will miss out this game. 

Yash Dayal was also in a good rhythm during the recently concluded match of the Duleep Trophy. However, he will probably not be a part of the playing XI along with Mohammad Siraj, because given the nature of the Chidambaram wicket, India will look to play with three spinners.
