After a washout in their previous game against Quetta Gladiators, Islamabad United are gearing up to face an upbeat Peshawar Zalmi team in the 20th match of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL 2024).

This exciting encounter will take place at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on Monday, March 4, and fans will be hopeful that the rain stays away this time around.

In their last game against Peshawar, Islamabad suffered an eight-run defeat and hence will be determined to turn the tide in the upcoming game.

Their performance this season has been a rollercoaster ride, showing flashes of brilliance mixed with moments of struggle.

While they started the season strongly by successfully chasing a target of over 190 in their opening game, they stumbled with three consecutive losses, including the one against Peshawar.

However, their recent seven-wicket victory against Karachi Kings injected some much-needed momentum into their campaign, and they now aim to maintain that winning streak to secure a spot in the playoffs.

As they go up against Peshawar, a team which has won three games on the trot, We at One Cricket will look at the possible playing XI of Islamabad United.

Since their last game was a washed out, Islamabad United's players likely benefited from the extra day's rest before this match. Given the lack of play on Saturday at Rawalpindi, no changes are expected from their victory over Karachi Kings as they plan to field the same playing XI.

The swashbuckling opening pair of Colin Munro and Alex Hales is expected to set the tone once again, following their stellar performance in the previous game.

Agha Salman, who has been sensational with both bat and ball, is likely to bat at number three position much like the last game against Karachi.

The middle-order will be anchored by captain Shadab Khan, Azam Khan, and Jordan Cox. Despite recent struggles to perform with the bat or ball, veteran all-rounders Faheem Ashraf and Imad Wasim are expected to maintain their places. The pace department will see no changes, with Naseem Shah, Hunain Shah, and Rumman Raees retaining their positions.
