Peshawar Zalmi lifted themselves up to number three on the PSL 2024 points table by defeating Multan Sultans, Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United in successive games in late February.

In a bid to sustain their newfound winning run and climb further up the PSL 2024 standings, Babar Azam and co. will now once again face Islamabad United, this time at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on March 4.

Ahead of their much-awaited contest, here is a look at the probable playing XI of the Peshawar Zalmi franchise.

Peshawar Zalmi's probable XI vs Islamabad United

Peshawar Zalmi's keeper-batter Mohammad Haris is yet to make a mark this PSL 2024 season. The 23-year-old cricketer has only managed to tally 46 runs across five innings for his franchise at a substandard average of 11.50.

Despite Haris' repeated struggles with the bat, the Zalmi captain Babar Azam will likely retain the youngster in his playing XI against Islamabad United in order to maintain his winning combination.

Under Babar's leadership, the Zalmi unit has already registered three successive wins this season, and another triumph over Islamabad United will lift them higher up the PSL 2024 points table.

In-form and tournament's highest run-getter Babar Azam will continue to open the innings with young Saim Ayub, while Haris, Haseebullah Khan and Paul Walter will constitute the team's middle-order.

Batting all-rounders Rovman Powell and Asif Ali can smoke a few in the death overs, as evidenced by their recent exploits.

Englishman Luke Wood and Afghanistan star Naveen-ul-Haq will likely continue to bowl in the opening powerplay. Paceman Salman Irshad and in-form spinner Arif Yaqoob will serve as the other specialist bowlers in the playing XI.
