Swashbuckling West Indies batter Johnson Charles has joined Multan Sultans ahead of the 19th match of the ongoing season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2024) against Karachi Kings on March 3rd, Sunday, at the National Stadium in Karachi.

In January this year, Multan Sultans confirmed Charles's return to the team under Mohammad Rizwan's captaincy as one of their two supplementary picks in the PSL 9 player replacement and supplementary draft.

Charles arrives after completing his stint with Comilla Victorians in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Multan Sultans warmly welcomed him via their official platform, expressing their excitement about his addition to the squad.

Despite a challenging BPL season, where he managed only 50 runs across four innings, Charles remains undeterred. Following Comilla Victorians' loss in the BPL final, he quickly made his way from Dhaka to Karachi. His participation in the upcoming match at the National Bank Stadium against Karachi Kings is eagerly awaited.

Charles' inclusion in the Multan Sultans squad is significant not only due to his batting prowess but also his rich international experience. His presence will further bolster the already formidable batting lineup of the Multan-based team, providing a happy selection dilemma for the team management.

Having been part of the West Indies team that won the 2016 T20 World Cup adds prestige and expertise to his profile. Additionally, his recent achievement of scoring the fastest T20I century by a Caribbean player, achieved in just 39 balls against South Africa in 2023, highlights his ability to single-handedly change the course of a game at the top of the order.

Having missed out on winning the BPL title, Charles will be eager to lead Multan Sultans to success in the PSL 2024.

As Multan Sultans prepare for their next clash, all eyes will be on Charles, with the hope that he will manage to get a place in the playing XI.
