UP Warriorz are set to take on Royal Challengers Bangalore in the reverse fixture of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 season, scheduled at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on Monday, March 4.

After a rough start with two losses, UP Warriorz bounced back big time, scoring two wins in a row. They are riding high after trouncing Gujarat Giants by six wickets in their most recent outing.

The Warriorz have displayed strong batting performances, but their fielding needs serious improvement. They have been among the top teams in the tournament for missed fields and dropped catches.

UP Warriorz hit the jackpot by elevating Kiran Navgire to the top order. Her stellar performances in the last two games have convinced the team to stick with the plan, pairing her alongside Alyssa Healy for the upcoming match.

After giving Tahlia McGrath ample chances to shine, UP Warriorz switched to Sri Lankan all-rounder Chamari Athapaththu.

Her impressive all-round display in the previous match against Gujarat ensures her retention in the playing 11 for the upcoming game.

Moreover, Grace Harris, the highest run-scorer of WPL 2024 and proud wearer of the orange cap, retains her role as an all-rounder for the team alongside vice-captain Deepti Sharma.

Shweta Sehrawat and Poonam Khemnar add further depth to the team, showcasing their skills in the tournament. However, the team is looking for greater consistency from both players.

Anjali Sarvani will lead the pace attack, with Saima Thakor by her side. Meanwhile, the spin duties will be in the capable hands of English spinner Sophie Ecclestone, supported by Rajeshwari Gayakwad.
