Gujarat Titans' new recruit, Robin Minz, was involved in a harrowing bike accident on Saturday, as confirmed by his father, Francis Minz.

According to Robin's father, he is currently "under observation," and fortunately, there's "nothing serious" to report, which comes as a relief to the GT management and captain Shubman Gill.

Reports indicate that Robin, renowned for his powerful batting skills, was riding a Kawasaki superbike when he collided with another bike and lost control.

News18 spoke with his father, Francis Minz, who corroborated the incident.

"He lost control when his bike came in contact with another bike. Nothing serious at the moment and he is currently under observation," disclosed Minz's father to News18.

The crash severely damaged the front portion of Robin's bike, and he sustained bruises on his right knee after losing control upon contact with another bike.

Although 'bruises' may downplay the potential risks, Robin is undergoing careful monitoring to promptly identify and address any underlying injuries.

After smashing 137 for Jharkhand against Karnataka in the Col CK Nayudu Trophy quarter-final, Robin had returned home.

He was set to join the Titans' pre-season camp ahead of IPL 2024, but whether there will be a delay remains uncertain.

Recently, new GT skipper Shubman Gill encountered Robin's father at the airport upon the completion of the fourth Test in Ranchi.

Although the 21-year-old has yet to represent Jharkhand at the senior level, he caught the eye of IPL scouts with his performances for Jharkhand's age-group teams.

Known for his natural power-hitting abilities, Robin is also a dependable wicket-keeper. Senior Jharkhand players Ishank Jaggi and Saurabh Tiwary hold him in high regard, labeling him the "next big thing" due to his immense potential.

Robin was part of MI's IPL training and even traveled to England to refine his skills. However, during the auction, it was GT who secured his services for Rs 3.60 crore.
