Gujarat Giants will have their task cut out when they take on Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 clash on Wednesday. The underperforming Gujarat-based franchise is currently languishing at the bottom of the table and still struggling to get off the mark in the points table.

The Beth Mooney-led side are virtually out of the playoffs race and will look to play for their pride in the remainder of the matches. Captain Mooney will look to lead from the front in the top-order after misfiring with the scores of 24, 8, 16, and 12 in her last four matches. Meanwhile, among the overseas batters Laura Wolvaardt and Phoeve Litchfield will also be expected to get amongst the runs in a phase where their franchise have nothing to lose.

There will be hopes from her Australian compatriot to continue displaying her brilliance in the middle-order after scoring 70 runs and scalping two wickets in her last two matches. She is also the leading run scorer for the Gujarat Giants, with an average of 23.

Meanwhile, the bowling department has not looked up to the mark after their first four matches in the league. The Gujarat Giants will heavily rely on Indian spinner Tanuja Kanwar and medium pacer Meghna Singh. Kanwar is the leading wicket-taker for Gujarat Giants, with six scalps in four matches and an average of 15.83, while Singh has picked up five wickets in as many matches with an average of 22.4.
