In a top of the table clash, Delhi Capitals will host Mumbai Indians in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 match on Tuesday.

Both franchises have won three matches and lost one to take the first-two spots in the points table. Delhi Capitals are ahead of the Mumbai Indians due to their superior Net Run Rate (NRR).

However, Mumbai Indians are likely to be bolstered by the presence of their captain Harmanpreet Kaur who is set to make a return in the playing XI.

In the absence of the veteran Indian batter, Mumbai Indians lost to UP Warriorz by seven wickets but came back strongly in their last match to register a seven-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Kaur missed out on the last two matches due to a niggle. But she should be available for selection in Mumbai Indians’ next match against Delhi Capitals.

Her return will solidify the Mumbai Indians playing XI as she has been in top form, notching up 55 runs against Delhi Capitals and 46 not out versus Gujarat Giants in the first-two matches.

Making way for Kaur will be Humaira Kazi who has not lived up to the billing in the first three appearances. She did not get to bat against Gujarat Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore while she could manage to score only four runs against UP Warriorz.

Mumbai Indians, meanwhile, will rely heavily on Yastika Bhatia and Amelia Kerr with the bat. Bhatia is the leading run scorer for the franchise with 121 runs while Kerr has scored 118. Incidentally, Kerr has also proved to be a handful with the bowl as she scalped seven wickets in four matches. They will, however, miss the services of Shabnim Ismail who is still recovering from a niggle.
