The Gujarat Giants franchise have named Mumbai star Sayali Sathgare as Kashvee Gautam’s replacement for the upcoming Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 season. Earlier this month, Kashvee was ruled out of the entire tournament owing to an injury.

Back in December 2023, Kashvee Gautam was acquired by the Gujarat Giants franchise for a staggering sum of Rs. 2 crore.

Sayali Sathgare to replace Kashvee Gautam in WPL 2024

On February 19, i.e., just a couple of days prior to the launch of the WPL 2024 season, Gujarat Giants have announced the replacement of their injured star Kashvee Gautam.

Kashvee, who plays for Chandigarh Women in domestic cricket, became the most expensive uncapped Indian player in the history of WPL after she was acquired by the Giants for Rs. 2 crores.

Owing to her injury, the franchise roped in Mumbai-based all-rounder Sayali Sathgare at a reserved price of Rs. 10 lakhs.

The upcoming WPL 2024 season will mark the first of Sayali Sathgare’s career, considering she went unsold at the auction back in 2023 for the tournament’s inaugural chapter.

As of now, the WPL 2024 season is slated to commence on February 23 with a match between Delhi Capitals and defending champions Mumbai Indians at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The Gujarat Giants, who finished the WPL 2023 at the bottom of the points table, will launch their campaign a couple of days later at the same venue against Mumbai Indians. Ahead of the much-awaited tournament and with recent changes made into the Gujarat Giants setup, here is a look at their entire updated squad:
