The Under-19 Asia Cup 2024 is in full swing in UAE, and India U19 stars have been hogging the internet for their performance. So far, the Boys In Blue have locked horns against Pakistan and Japan.

Several stars, such as Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Ayush Mhatre, and skipper Mohammad Amaan, who smashed a century against Japan. Unfortunately, several of these stars went unsold in the recently concluded IPL 2025 mega auction. Meanwhile, this article will shed light on three former Under19 captains who went unsold in the auction.

Prithvi Shaw

The most shocking name that went unsold in the mega auction was Prithvi Shaw. The right-hand batter, who was once touted as the next 'Sachin Tendulkar', registered his base price for 75 lakhs, but failed to find a solitary bidder.

Shaw made his IPL debut with DC for 1.10 crores in 2018 after leading India to the U19 World Cup title in 2018. He earned 8 crores till 2024, but his poor form and off-field habits led to him being unsold in the recently concluded auction.

Unmukt Chand

In August 2012, Unmukt Chand led India to the U19 World Cup title. Following the success, he was touted to be the next big thing for India and penned a deal with Delhi Capitals. However, he didn't find success in IPL, nor he earned a call-up for India.

Frustrated by the lack of opportunities in India, Chand retired from cricket in India and moved to the USA. He registered as an overseas cricketer for the IPL 2025 mega auction and found no bidders.

Yash Dhull

Similar to Prithvi and Chand, Delhi Capitals bought Dhull in 2022 for 50 lakhs after he led India to another Under-19 World Cup win. However, Dhull failed to replicate his U19 success in IPL and went unsold in IPL 2025 mega auction.

Dhull had registered at a base price of 30 lakhs and yet found no interest from the Capitals, who overlooked Yash.
