Once considered as one of the most promising young talents in Indian cricket, Prithvi Shaw found himself without a buyer at the IPL 2025 mega auction today (November 25). Despite entering the auction with a modest base price of Rs 75 lakh, the swashbuckling opener was overlooked by all franchises.
Prithvi Shaw was with the Delhi Capitals since 2018, and known for his aggressive stroke play his IPL journey began with great promise. However, a series of controversies and personal issues have continually overshadowed his abilities. And with all this controversy it appears that IPL franchises have finally decided they are unwilling to take a gamble on his inconsistent performances.

When the IPL 2025 auction began, there was a sense of hope among that maybe any franchise might take a chance on him, especially given his previous performances in the league. However, no franchise showed interest, and Shaw was left unsold at his base price of Rs 75 lakh. It is also worth mentioning that, Prithvi Shaw has also been excluded from the accelerated auction.
